GROOVEMENT™
In Groovement, we focus on groundedness, three-dimensionality, softness and articulation.
Groovement is an individual practice that respects one's natural anatomy and therefore is suitable for everyBody.
This is approached with set tasks and guided improvisation to tune the body into specific sensations and qualities, with consciousness and precision, where how it feels is more important than how it looks.
In the practice, we enhance body-awareness, discover and rediscover our patterns and challenge our range of motion, dynamics, levels, space, density and intensity.
Groovement can be used to enhance performative/physical skills and add to one's choreographic and didactic material.
Its well-being/therapeutic properties are being researched.

DYNAMIC FLOORWORK
The class is devoted to floorwork and is influenced by different movement techniques Julia encountered in the last years. After a gradual warm-up we focus on which part of the body leads and where the impulse of the movement originates, where it begins and ends. We will discover the relation between weight and gravity force, going up and down from the floor through sliding, rolling and falling. Exercises support the exploration of our natural physical organicity, using it as a base for developing strength, versatility and to find freedom in your movement through phrases and movement tasks. We will study the energetics of our body language to investigate how we can reach a theatrical physicality.
